Movie Review: The Taking of Pehlem 123

Finally got a chance to see The Taking of Pehlem 123. My expectation of this movie was high because you have John Trivolta and Denzel Washington in it. It was captivating to say the least. It’s on of those movies that you need to pay attention to find the REAL plot to the movie. Trivolta was pretty entertaining in his character. Denzel is his usual fast talking self like in many other movies. The best part of the movie to me is when the cops are trying to get the 10 million dollars across New York City to the drop-off point, that was full of action.  When The Taking of Pelhem 123 comes out on Blue-ray it’s a must get.

Mvix Ultio (MX-800HD) vs Western Digital TV 2.0

I am looking to enhance my HD media center at home, which one should I pick? The Mvix MX-800HDhttp://www.mvixusa.com/ultio/1080p-high-definition-home-theater-pc.html $169

or the Western Digital WDTV 2.0 http://www.wdtvforums.com/ $149.

Man I am torn between the two. Now the WDTV's latest version offers networkability for $20 less than the Mvix but the Mvix has been out longer, tested and Proven. Let me know what you think, email me at scionearl@gmail.com

Scion Show

Hey guys, The 1st ever annual United for the Children show is taking place November 13th and 14th, with a meet and brunch on the 15th. We are doing this charity show for Pendleton Place, PP is a childrens shelter here in Greenville, South Carolina.

You may not have ever heard of it, but this is a shelter which has been open since the 1970's

Just give a little bit of information about Pendleton Place I have cut and copied straight off of their webpage. which is www.pendletonplace.ieasysite.com

Since its founding in 1975 by the Junior League of Greenville, Pendleton Place Children's Shelter has been filling an important need in the Greenville community by providing a safe, warm place for children and youth who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect, abandonment, or the incarceration of their parents or guardians.

Before there was a Pendleton Place Children's Center children removed from their homes were taken to the Law Enforcement Center until a Department of Social Services Case Worker could arrive and begin the process of foster care placement. Sometimes hours passed before these children had a place to go, and then, they could move several times before a suitable foster home was found.

Now, children come to Pendleton Place immediately and stay as long as it takes to find the right placement

Children come to Pendleton Place at all hours of the day and night, 365 days a year. They are often hungry, dirty, sick, or have injuries that require medical treatment. All are emotionally traumatized and in need of special attention to make them feel safe again. Much more than a roof over their heads, Pendleton Place provides the structure, support, and professional guidance these children so desperately need to begin the healing process.

With the difficult economy this will be a free show, free food, free drinks ( sodas and waters of course )

We are looking at hotels now, and will be updating this with the hotel info here in the two to three days.

I hope to see you all here in the Upstate,

Please help to spread the news! This is a great cause, and could really use the help of the scion nation.

Thank you so very much,
Shannon and the rest of the Scion United Family

Movie Review: The Proposal

Let me tell you I am not much for “chick flicks” but this was a good movie. This movie is not what you would think it would be but it has a few twists. I am not a big fan of Sandra Bullock but she was great in this movie. She plays this very powerful New York City book editor that all of her employees quiver in her presence. She has this personal assistant played by Ryan Reynolds that is at her every beckon call that pretty much hates her. This romantic comedy was more comedy than romance to me and had me laughing for the most part of the movie. Yes it does have its romantic portions of the movie and the Alaskan setting looked awesome!  When this movie comes out I will have to add it to my collection.
